3 french braids into fantails

Spring break is almost over, but we went out to a place called Antelope Island (its an Island on the Great Salt Lake) I have lived about an hour and a half away from it for my whole life and have never been there! They have some great Mountain bike trails, (my husband is big into the biking thing) so we loaded up the kids and headed off but not before we did hair that would stay out of their eyes (its windy) when their bike helmets are off and the helmets would fit over hair so this is what we came up with for Baby Mermaid!
Here I have split the hair into three sections, one across the front and two pigtail sections

braids down the two pigtails, fantail on the one side

french braid across the front

pull the front braid back and under the fantail

hook with a clear elastic on french braid

fold into a fantail

from the front

top back view. after we got there I was so glad that we did her hair up tight because they played and played on the sandy beach! her hair was full of sand when we got home! this would be a great do for the beach!

here are the girls at sunset! it was a great fun time! (weird thing on baby Mermaids nose,it was a camera thing not a deformity we have been hiding all these years! LOL)

More braids and pigtails day 2!

I love second day hair and its spring break, despite the snow, and Monkey Mans Birthday! I wanted something quick so we could be off to the zoo, so Baby Mermaids braids still looked o.k. a little fuzzy but I was in a hurry so I just looped the hair up into pincurl buns, they looked super cute and then I stuck our new Minnie mouse on safari (Zebra) bows in her hair! they turned out so cute that I thought that I would show ya!
Here she is after we have been to the zoo all day! they held up fairly well, I don't have step by steps because my camera was out of batteries this morning!

Here are the kids in shorts and light jackets in the snow! I couldn't resist documenting our "spring break"
Thanks for stopping by!

More braids, More Pigtails

Hey Ladies! I feel like I am back into the swing of hair doing after my couple of months of nothing but pigtails! I saw this cute do on Redpunzel and had to chic-clipify it so here goes my twist on her do! I took my kiddos up to the Children's Museum of Utah today and I could hear a ton of moms whispering to each other about her hair! Just a side note if you see one of my kids out in the world with me its o.k. to say wow cute hair how did you do that!
I pulled all of her hair into pigtails except for a square in the front and a square in the back

I french braided her square back and then split the french braid into two braids hooking them into her pigtails

tipped her head upside down and did the same thing for the back square!

added some bows of course!

and out the door we went! Hope you loved it, and thanks Rachel, the only thing we need now is for her to be a red head and she would fit in on both our blogs!

Wide Hair Headband

For some reason lately I have been in a hair headband mood, so I did a wide triple head band on Baby Mermaid. I did a regular headband with her bangs, a dutch braid second and then a regular french braid last. so it was quite a bit wider than usual
Here it is all pulled together under her hair

hair combed out from the back

and from the front, I think we stuck a bow in after the pic, but sometimes believe it or not my kids will go to school without hair accessories! and remember to keep checking back for my very cool fabo giveaway!!!!!

chic Older girl hair with bangs and braids and pony tail

To cool for hair recently cut some bangs into her hair (against moms wishes) and so now we get to discover new hairdos! for this hair we hooked her bangs up out of the way and parted out an inch section behind her bangs, then hooked the back hair out of the way

I braided down one side, and then the other
then I pulled her hair into a pony and hooked the braids into it

from the front with her "long bangs"

and a silly one!

Oh, I also have a very cool giveaway coming up on the end of this week! get ready cause it is so cool! I can't wait to show you the cool product and the great price that I found at a craft show this weekend! whoop! I love new hair stuff!!!!

Funky buns with a zipper

Hey Everyone we had a photo shoot today for my hair bows and my friends custom clothing Stitcheroos So Here is the funny fun Hairdo we did on Baby Mermaid!
we started with a Zipper part, I just braided her hair back and forth across the part I would have liked to do it twice more.... but I was out of time!
Then I pulled the sides up into pigtail, then I braided the pigtails into 6 braids and braided it down 3/4 of the way.

Then I hooked the braids into loops with bobby pins, and left the tops all crazy.

Here she is with crazy tops. at this point I was running crazy, So we ran upstairs I curled and fluffed her ends and I didn't take the camera up so.... NO Pictures for you!

added some of the cutest Minnie Mouse bows EVER!

Here it is from the top with a good view of the zipper

Here she is messing around after the shoot! she has her cute outfit on but I have to admit the wind had picked up quite a bit so her tutu looks a little weird!

cute socks!
there you go!

Side pony with a braid!

Baby Mermaid wanted a side pony today so this is it! so I parted her hair on the side and pulled one side into a pony. I admit this was a little high but it all came out in the end
Then I braided the rest of her hair around her head

and hooked the end onto the pony on the side

stuck a bow on there and we were out the door!

french braids (2nd day hair)

This is our second day hair, yesterday we did a Braided bun with fantails and today I took out the pony tail and then re-braided the front part of her hair again, then I split the back into pigtails and french braided them down, when I got half way down, I pulled the braid from the front into the french braid and then just continued all the way to the bottom.
Here is a pic of me adding the front braid to the french braid!
side view
back view, I should really go to bed earlier that is one crooked part!

from the front! what a cute baby Mermaid
in the back with puff balls
I love these bows they are one of my faves!
For all of you who are waiting with baited breath for pics of our school pic hair.... Its not going to happen, To Cool for Hair just had a fairytale braid in her hair. Then with the crying and the curling and the spraying and the trying to find a clean (dress code) shirt for baby mermaid, I found out that morning that she had been putting her school shirts back into her drawers dirty so she didn't have to carry them to the laundry! Well, needless to say I didn't take pics of their hair before they went out the door.... but don't worry I will no doubt be getting retakes so I can have a pic of Baby Mermaid with a clean shirt on!
