3 french braids into fantails

Spring break is almost over, but we went out to a place called Antelope Island (its an Island on the Great Salt Lake) I have lived about an hour and a half away from it for my whole life and have never been there! They have some great Mountain bike trails, (my husband is big into the biking thing) so we loaded up the kids and headed off but not before we did hair that would stay out of their eyes (its windy) when their bike helmets are off and the helmets would fit over hair so this is what we came up with for Baby Mermaid!

Here I have split the hair into three sections, one across the front and two pigtail sections

braids down the two pigtails, fantail on the one side

french braid across the front

pull the front braid back and under the fantail

hook with a clear elastic on french braid

top back view. after we got there I was so glad that we did her hair up tight because they played and played on the sandy beach! her hair was full of sand when we got home! this would be a great do for the beach!

here are the girls at sunset! it was a great fun time! (weird thing on baby Mermaids nose,it was a camera thing not a deformity we have been hiding all these years! LOL)

Braided bun with fantails

Here is Baby Mermaids do yesterday, She had just washed it but for some reason it still felt nasty so I wanted it pulled up! I did a Zig-zag part on the side of her head and french braided that back to her pony tail
Then I did the other side

Then I braided the back hair into 3 braids, I did leave the tails of upbraided hair kinda long for the fantails

looped them up and hooked them with an elastic, ratted out the hair to add some volume

Here it is from the top, with a bow of course, I love the way that the braids look coming off of the zig-zag part

See, ya we are off to school! Tomorrow is picture day so that should be interesting!

looped ropes!

I love this hairdo, we do it quite often, I found it on she does hair this was the first hair blog that I started following!So here she is all finished upWe started with a zig-zag part

Next I put in three rope twists on each side, here is a video of how to do a rope twist for (Adrienne) those of you who asked!

We recorded this like 4 times this morning before school so I hope it is o.k. the little Princess was our photographer, I hope you get the jist of it!

I flat Ironed and curled the pieces and then ratted them out

Added bows and Voila!

This is one of my old standbys, I thought I would show you, I know it looks complicated but it is really quite simple once you have a basic french braid downso i combed the hair and wetted it down a tiny bit,
did to french braids till I was right above her ears

Then I had her lay her head in my lap and I did two braids up to the other braids and hooked them together with an elastic

Then I hooked the pig tail up in a loop, sorry about the mess on Sunday mornings my kids make villages with books Lego's and Polly pockets!

Next I curled the ends and ratted them out!

added a pair of bows, cause ya all know me by now!

twisted ropes, into a french braid

Before I start hair blogging remember to enter here for free bows because of my 100th sale!

I know that no Idea is totally original, but I think I came up with this today! this is a second day hair do, yesterday Baby Mermaid had this hair

So I took her hair out combed it and put it in three ropes along the front, these are going to start your french braid.
Then I did three ropes along each side (parted down the middle)

Then starting with the front three ropes I started my french braid and instead of pulling sections from each side I just added a rope!

Then I took out all of the extra elastics, made a fan tail by hooking the braid into a tiny loop and flat ironed her hair to give it a little fluff

added a bow,

and sent her off to school, she wanted to show you all her wild thing that she made in school yesterday his name is batmonkey, And we love him (she made me say that)

Zig-Zag French Braid

Today we thought that we would show you some of our favorite hairdos

Little princess wanted to keep her hair up off her neck today so we parted her hair in a zig-zag part with the long part of a rat tail comb, then we put one side in a elastic to keep it out of the way!Then we did a dutch french braid down one side
Then down the other side

We left fairly long tails of hair so we can do fantails.

Tuck them up with a second elastic

and voila, your done after adding bows of course!

Indian braids with a twist

This is a quick hairdo because we slept in and had to be gone! Here is a twist on the basic Indian braids. We started out parting the hair for pigtails. then Hair sprayed and combed back one side to the back part of her head and braided it down, with not elastics next to her Head. we braided it almost all the way, just leaving enough for a fantail. Then we repeated on the other side. Here is both braids, you could end here if you want in what my kids call Indian braids.
Then I just fold up the braid and elastic it together.

Here is both sides done, and of course bows!

Braided Headband with a pony tail

We Were going to the zoo with grandma and we over slept, so we did some super fast hair that was cute and up so we didn't have hair on our necks... turned out it rained on us and we wore hats all day long! oh well here are our dos for the day!

Baby monkeys hair I saw a pic of Ashley Tisdale with a braid headband around a pony so here it is!

So I parted her hair in a circle around her head. This proved the most challenging and i thought it was not straight and was not going to take pics but then as I started braiding you couldn't tell that it was crooked. so we took pics. I only pulled hair from the front of the dutch braid, this made it sit back on the part and hide it from view.

Then I continued on with the braid and finished it off with an elastic..


Then I pulled the rest of the hair into a pony tail. I always hairspray before I comb and that helps keep the hair smooth just work fast so the hairspray does not dry on you before you are done! Then I hooked the braid into the bottom of the pigtail.

Got out my trusty Topsy Tail and pulled the pony threw almost all the way. I left a little bump underneath the fantail.

Here is her pony after I had pulled it threw. If any one has advice on how to keep it looking like this I would really appreciate it!

Next we ratted it and sprayed it and hooked hair where I wanted it with bobby pins. I also added a bow because I have to. I think I might be obsessed?
