Barn door Hair

Hi, everyone! I have a new blog that is just going to focus on giveaways! I am really excited about offering this! I have a great giveaway for hair bows going on right now! The web site is chic-clips giveaway now on to the hair do, I called this the barn door because growing up my Aunt Lenore had a big red barn with a white X painted on it just like a classic barn door you would see in cartoons! I loved it and this hair do reminded me of her barn!

So I started with four pigtails and did twists in all four, no problem for all you hair ladies out there!

now I crossed them in a zig-zag pattern

now I wound the ends around the bases of the pigtails and hooked them with booby pins

added some huge-o bows and we are off

This is a pic of the next morning they had come unwound a little bit, I loved it this way (a little more messy) so we added bows again and were out the door again! YES two days with one do!

I love this hairdo, we do it quite often, I found it on she does hair this was the first hair blog that I started following!So here she is all finished upWe started with a zig-zag part

Next I put in three rope twists on each side, here is a video of how to do a rope twist for (Adrienne) those of you who asked!

We recorded this like 4 times this morning before school so I hope it is o.k. the little Princess was our photographer, I hope you get the jist of it!

I flat Ironed and curled the pieces and then ratted them out

Added bows and Voila!

twisted ropes, into a french braid

Before I start hair blogging remember to enter here for free bows because of my 100th sale!

I know that no Idea is totally original, but I think I came up with this today! this is a second day hair do, yesterday Baby Mermaid had this hair

So I took her hair out combed it and put it in three ropes along the front, these are going to start your french braid.
Then I did three ropes along each side (parted down the middle)

Then starting with the front three ropes I started my french braid and instead of pulling sections from each side I just added a rope!

Then I took out all of the extra elastics, made a fan tail by hooking the braid into a tiny loop and flat ironed her hair to give it a little fluff

added a bow,

and sent her off to school, she wanted to show you all her wild thing that she made in school yesterday his name is batmonkey, And we love him (she made me say that)

Pigtails with Woven Ropes

Well, summer is at a close, I feel sad in some ways and can't wait till Monday! so here is a last day of summer do, it is a variation on one I did earlier in the summer. I started by parting her hair into three sections, then I split the middle section into two and put in pigtails. then the front section I split into four and made ropes out of all four sections

Here are the pigs and ropes from the back,

then I wove the ropes back and hooked them into the pigs

Then I parted the back into four and made them into ropes

wove them and hooked them into the piggies

added bows from the back,

and from the front! lets go play!

Pony in a net of ropes

I am sure that this is not original to me, I just sat down and started to play and this is what we ended up with. I am thankful for patient kiddos! We did six ropes across the front of Baby Mermaid's Head
Then we took out a section in the back behind her ear like this

and hooked the 3 braids from the left side to the section behind her ear on the right

Then we wove the right sides threw the left side and hooked it to a small section behind her right ear

Then we hooked both sections together under her hair, and I pulled out the curling iron and of course my good friend hairspray and went to town!

Here she is still in her jamies and her hair all dolled up!

Double Rope, Princess hair

I don't know where I saw this before, or if I have I just started doing ropes and ended up with this. So I made to small ropes opposite sides of her Head about an inch square, and about the same distance from the front of her head

then I hooked both of the ropes behind her head to form a crown, or as my girls call it princess hair, Then I didn't like how the front of her hair looked so I did tiny rope french braids, you do these just like a regular french braid by sectioning pieces of hair and then remember to twist it into the single section before twisting them both together, It takes a bit of practice, but you can do it!

Then I hooked those two twist together in the back to make a double crown,

usually I would hook a bow on the ends to cover the elastic but the little princess said no! I know I am shocked also,

Rope Pigtails

I realized that I had been doing a lot of braids lately so I thought that I would do something else! I do this hairdo with braids all the time and someone asked me how I did it so you can sub the ropes with braids if you want to!

So, Here is baby Mermaids hair divided into six sections three on each side of center, Then I put the middle section up into pigtails. They are high pigtails in the middle of this section.

Next I put the other 4 sections into ropes by twisting, you just section it into 2 sections and twist the hair to the right and then twist the sections together to the left! Remember to twist them opposite directions to make the ropes!

Now that we have our ropes done then we cross the front ropes and the back ropes and hook them with elastic into the pigtails.

Now I take out the elastics on the bottom of the ropes and comb them out. you could be done at this point, but it is really windy outside and she wants to play outside so I am going to continue so her hair isn't blowing in her face!
now I hairspray and wet down her hair with detangler and split the pigtail into two sections and turn them into ropes!

of course I add bows and Your done! pigtail ropes!

Twisted Ropes Bun

OK so today is Baby Mermaids turn for fancy hair! She stayed in her jammies all day long yesterday! What a lazy mermaid. So after a nice shower we started with clean dry hair. I parted it from above her eye across her head

Next we split it from Ear to ear and made little twisted ropes I always twist the hair to the right and then twist both strands togther to the left

Then I pulled the rest of her hair into a ponytail, and put the two ropes in that pony tail

Then I put all of her pony into ropes wow that is a lot of ropes this took a few minutes

then I hooked all of the ropes up into the pony so they made loops

I fanned out the loops so the ends looked like this

Now we curled all of those flippy tails, if you like the messy look you could skip this step
now we stuck in a couple of flower clips and look! your done!
