Toddler Park Ponytail Mohawk!

This hair style was made out of a strong desire for calm hair on a windy day!
We were heading to the park and I wanted some way to keep Q's short curly hair from becoming a terrible "rats nest" :)
(with longer hair I probably would have just gotten away with one big ponytail or messy bun, but her hair is too short for that yet! So we got creative.)

I took her existing (not post-worthy, lol!) style from earlier in the day and just absorbed it into this...

I parted her hair from ear to ear in three sections.
Then I made a ponytail out of each section,
On the last time through the ponytail, I left the "tail" partway in the loop, so that the hair formed a loop :)

A little wacky and crazy, but I'm pretty confident that we'll use this hairstyle again! I liked it and it was incredibly functional :)

Messy Knots

They're not actually "knots" - I just start to make a ponytail, but then twist the elastic over again before the first hair is pulled through all the way. Basically a "messy bun" but on such little hair it doesn't look as full.
The one in front also has a braid involved :) I was trying something new and it didn't go as planned - so we ended up with this! I quite liked it tho. :) Sometimes the best things come when you really weren't expecting them! (Not that this is my best style...I hope not anyway! But I do like it. It's very different from how I usually do Q's hair.) The braid wouldn't be necessary if you were intending to do messy knots from the beginning! :) lol

Here's a couple more pictures :) The last one's my personal favorite!

(This one was taken before the last knot had been added. Later in the day there was one more on her right side - our left as we look in the picture - and I think that really balanced it out nicely once that one was added.)

Messier Pigtail Buns

For today's hair I wanted something quick and up, I hate long hair just straggly especially for school, it always comes back all nasty! so this is what we did!

so we french braided back her bangs sections just in messy non-parted braids, easy you cant mess this up!

this is the side front braid, why I am showing this pic?

Then I pulled back the rest of her hair into lowish pigtails, I included the braids from the front

then you make funky messy buns! I really don't have my own way of a really messy bun, I have borrowed everyone else's ways and then usually I put bobby pins in them till they are not messy anymore

Then I added some bows from my web store! I know I am obsessed with bows

a pic from the back so you can see just how messy this do was! I hope ya enjoyed and I hope this helps inspire you to do this hair do on your little ones!

turned those pigtails into messy buns using elastics and bobby pins

A Wreath of Buns

I saw this hair do on Maddie girl but I changed it up a bit to kinda make it my own. so here goes I parted the Hair into eight sections and put a pony in each section
Then we went up a flat ironed her hair to give it a little more volume

Put it in messy buns same as I do most of my messy buns, by looping it around two fingers and hooking it with an elastic at the base of the pony, with her hair I did add a couple of bobby pins to make it lay more down on her head.

Hair sprayed the whole mess. (the back of her hair didn't reach and so I just curled this later)

I wrapped a sheer ribbon through her hair and then I hooked a big bow in the back to cover where my ribbon started and stopped

from the front

and the top

big french braids into a funky type bun (2nd day hair)

Yesterday we did the braided headbands with straight hair in the back, This mess is what I started with

I braided three braids back to the back of her head

Then two up the back

Then each of the pigtails I braided into 2 braids

Then I looped each set of braids up and hooked them with an elastic

Then we ran up and straightened and curled the ends with a flatiron and fluffed everything up. added a bow on each of the three top pig tails I wanted a red white and navy bow but we had to settle for these ones! I can't believe that I didn't have the bows I wanted! Weird!

Here it is from the back with a messy kinda do!

Queen of Hearts!

Baby Mermaid named this hairdo, She thought that the messy buns looked like little hearts, and they did in a baby Mermaid way!I split the hair into six sections and then french braided them back
Here it is from the top

Then I spilt the hair in half folded each split over a finger
Slid them off my fingers and hooked them with a elastic. Sorry this pic is blurry the Little Princess was taking pics!

This is what it looked like when I got them all done from the front.

added some bows cause you all know by now that I am the bow queen!

Here it is from the back and I highlighted a heart so you could see what she was talking about. Thanks for reading my blog! I love comments and so do my kids so let us know what you think!

tween indian braids

With a sniff and a heavy heart I blog this hairdo. It is the last do I did in The little Princesses hair before she had it all chopped!
It is a bit more grown up but I think that its cute and simple, nice for when you are running out the door!
Just part the hair down the center and comb into a smooth pigtail then I just braided it a couple of times and did an elastic, I left it really loose so it would look kinda messy and believe it or not applied no hairspray! this may be a blogging first for me!

From the front with crazy eyes?

and a sweet princess, thanks for reading my blog!

Twisted Ropes Bun

OK so today is Baby Mermaids turn for fancy hair! She stayed in her jammies all day long yesterday! What a lazy mermaid. So after a nice shower we started with clean dry hair. I parted it from above her eye across her head

Next we split it from Ear to ear and made little twisted ropes I always twist the hair to the right and then twist both strands togther to the left

Then I pulled the rest of her hair into a ponytail, and put the two ropes in that pony tail

Then I put all of her pony into ropes wow that is a lot of ropes this took a few minutes
then I hooked all of the ropes up into the pony so they made loops

I fanned out the loops so the ends looked like this

Now we curled all of those flippy tails, if you like the messy look you could skip this step
now we stuck in a couple of flower clips and look! your done!

what a cute little Mermaid!
