Super-Easy-No-Pins-Stay-All-Day Updo

Here is one of the styles that I gave a peek of earlier this week. It is an awesome updo! You can make this dressy or fun, whatever you are going for:) I love this do and fix my own hair this way occasionally. My favorite things about this one? NO pins and it won't fall out!

Okay, so you have seen this first pic. I did it a different way for the tutorial pictures. This time, I put all the hair up, including her bangs. I like it both ways, but I think the bangs being down is a little better for my baby girl... Well, at least for everyday wear:)
So, to start, you want to part out the front hair and whatever tendrils you want hanging. And of course, the bottom if you are only doing half. Put the rest into a ponytail.

Next, I used a pony to hold her bangs back. This isn't the best picture and I actually re-did this, but didn't get another pic. Anyway, I just put the bangs in an elastic with some hair in the middle toward the bottom of the section. Then, twist the sections back and add them to the pony.

Do a pull-through up.

Another lousy pic, sorry:) Put an elastic at the end of the remaining hair; I fold over the ends the last time around, just to make it easier.

Now, just push the elastic and end of the hair up into the pull-through. This time, to make it a little fun, I pulled the ends out and spiked them a little.

So that's it! I used 4 elastics and this stayed all day!

Fancy tiny braid pigtails

Baby Mermaid wanted pigtails today so we thought that we would spice them up a bit!
we started with straight hair, and parted it from ears forward and then split that in half with a zigzag part. Then I french braided down the small piggies from the center part to her ears.

Then, we added bows and lookie there! we are done!

Rock Star Hair!

This is just a simple day after braids hair, but my girls love it so I thought that I would show it to you!

After taking out the braids (we had cornrows yesterday) I always have to fix the ends. I don't know why they just bug me, I have an old 80's crimper that has little crimps and bigger round crimps, I use the bigger ones and they match the braid bumps perfect!

I hate hair in the face so I part the hair into two sections from ear to ear, then part that section in half, we used a zigzag part because we are doing Rock Star Hair
then I pull the sections into small piggies.

Now I would add bows cause I am a bow type of girl!

first day of summer hair!

OK this is my very first blog and I love to look at hair blogs and do my kiddies hair so I thought that I would start a hair blog... please bear with me as we work out the bugs together
So this is my baby Mermaid, on the first day of summer! we had just got back from swimming and so I thought that I would do a simple hairdo, because we had already done swimming hair today.
we will call this a diagonal french braid princesses hair

First we took a square part on the top of her head and then split it into halves diagonal

Now we braided the right side with a dutch french braid.from the front to the back

once again we did a dutch french braid, but from back to front this time

Hook the braids together in the back, I always put on a bow to cover the elastic

and voilà you have princess hair with a french braid!

Sneak Peek... because I am WAY too busy!

Okay, so I don't have time to post right now, but it has been several days:) So, here is a little sneak peek of do's and things I will post over the next couple days...

First, I gave Alex a hair cute:( I was so sad to see all those lovely curls go... This picture is several months old, but is the best at showing just how much hair she had before. We took off 4 inches! You'll hear more about this, trust me! :)
You will also get to see this super-easy, but absolutely beautiful updo! (This is one that will work for little girl, big girl... you might even find yourself doing this to your hair. I sure did!)

You'll see this one too, the first do I did after her cut. Just a fun bouf, but one that will stay, and stay! I have 3 more do's to share, but I haven't even downloaded the pictures yet. I think you'll like what's coming:)

These are so cute! Great for toddler pigtails or using on the sides of a bun , and just perfect for scene hair:) We use these simple bows to decorate purses and overalls too!

Zebra Princess (5")

This is one of my favorite bows! This has real swarovski crystals and a custom velvet embroidered button! This is a larger bow, but can still be adorable on little ones! Here is a pic of the bow in Alex's hair (hope you don't mind her modeling:) All of the bows are on 1 3/4" half-lined alligator clips.

Crazy-Messy-Twisty Piggies:)

Oh my, I love the way this turned out! This took us about 15, mainly so I could figure out what I was doing:) And Alex just LOVED it!

So we started with pigtails, leaving out hair at the bottom in back and in front.

Next, we split the bottom into three section. I did twist braids for the outside sections, crossed them and added them to the piggies.

For some reason, I managed to not get a single picture of the back after it was finished (I hate it when I do that!) For the middle piece, I did a twist braid part of the way up and then added one piece from the braid to each pigtail, so they crossed over the twist braids a little below the first x. I hope that makes sense!

Okay, for the front, I took a small piece of hair from the piggies and added it to the section in front then did a pull-through. The trick with this is to get the pull-through in the middle of that piece you added from the pigtail. This makes it "fountain" up.

To finish, I made a few random twist braids in each pigtail and then ratted up the rest of the hair. A quick mist of hairspray and she was rockin'.

Oh, and did I mention she likes this one:) Look at that smirk!
