Organic Bun.

So right now I am working on a quick two week workshop with our Youtheatre group, and My two oldest have been teaching, so... To cool for hair requires a up do to keep her hair off her neck! I guess you have a hard time chasing 25 5-8 year olds with a sweaty neck! I did this up do and loved it It was really loose and kinda flowey looking but stayed in well all day! best of both worlds!
So I started by pulling the bottom part of her hair into a pony by doing a twisty type thing (not my specialty)
Next I just started grabbing hair and doing weird things with it (twists ropes braids whatever)
I just hooked them to the pony with an elastic
here all of her hair is back into a pony

side, view

other side
I have been doing this bun a lot lately, its super easy! I take the pony (or piggies) braid it and then....

tie it in a knot!

hook it with bobby pins to secure it
and you have an easy summer do for a teen that is a tiny bit fussy with her hair! but this gets the too cool for hair seal of approval!

figure 8 worm buns

Sunday is always my day to do the girls hair however I want so this was Baby Mermaids do for today!
I started by pulling pigtails to the back of her head

then i split the right pigtail in half and twisted it into a twisty thing and then twisted it around the left pigtail and back around the right to make a figure 8

then I just continued until all of her pigtails had been twisted around in the figure 8

stuck some bows on, (of course)

and your done! super easy but really cute!

she lost two teeth yesterday so we had to do a close up of the teeth!

Show Choir hair

To Cool for Hair is in a show choir and this is her show choir hair for this year. I had to go to a meeting to learn how to do it, but I had cub scouts so I sent my Dear Husband. Last year they taught us how to use a curling Iron and I thought no problem this year, I would just read the instructions and whip it out... (hahahaha) it was a little bit more involved but really cute so here goes. pull the back part of her hair into a twist and secure with a elastic.
I parted her hair back about an inch and a half and then parted that above her left eye. slicked down her hair to her ears and....

pined it above her ears, then I pulled the front part back and hooked it into the twist, I did pin curls above the twist following these instructions

and here we are from the back with lots of hairspray

and the top with lots of hairspray

I told her she had crazy eyes but she said no more pics so I guess this is as good as it gets this early in the morning.

pigtails with twisted rows

AHHH, I really try to post once a day but life seems to be going so fast lately! I thought that with Monkey Man in school I would have tonz of time, but to my dismay I have not had extra time at all! So, after spending the whole day at a leadership pow wow for cub scouts and the kiddos spending the whole day at the pool with their daddy, we got back together with time to throw the kids in the shower to wash off the chlorine and get to a church BBQ picnic! so with minutes to spare we did a cute do on baby mermaid, this went together really fast! I pulled back the back part into two high pigtails
then I parted the front part on the side and then parted each side into three sections

Now these are not fancy twists, I just twisted the hair all together until it layed flattish on her head and turned back to the pigtail

Here is all three on this side

a weird front view, have you ever noticed when you are in a hurry your kids are the least cooperative? crazy huh!

top view with some wild bows I love these bows, and this really went together very fast, and just added a little something special to her piggies!
