Triple woven french braid?

So For the little princesses half birthday we had a swimming party, so we needed something fancy that would hold up to water, this is what we came up with! It looks like a hard do I know but it was quite easy after I figured it out! sorry this is a very long post! and it has lots of pics!So I separated the hair into three sections length wise, Then I separated the center section into six, two across three down, then I french braided the front right piece down to the middle left piece back to the bottom right piece, then braided the hair all the way to the ends.

Here is the top view then we just repeated the other side

so here is the middle section all done! we went left right left instead of right left right! then I sectioned the hair on the sides just like I did in the middle and braided them out the same way

Here is the first braid on the left

Here is the left side and the center done, now, on to the right!

Here is the first braid on the right side, I wove it the same way I did the center one! I know it looks complex but it was really very easy!

all the tails I braided them down as far as i could

all the tails braided together!

then I tucked the tails up in a elastic to make a loop.

Hair Tragedy!

Today a hair tragedy occurred, I took my long locked little girl in to the beauty college and she came out a totally different person! Mom is going to have to look for some short hair styles because that is what she has now! But on a more serious note I am so proud of the Little Princess, this is the third time that she has donated to locks of love and I couldn't be more proud! She is a beautiful girl long hair or short!

for more information on locks of love here is a link http://www.locksoflove.org/ I have to say, Aubree, that cut her hair did a great job and she put her hair in six different pigtails to cut it so we could keep as much length as possible and locks of love could get as much length as possible!

loose braid and triple barrel curls

I love Sam's Hair on Icarly. I love curly hair that is well maintained, not the ratty sick hair that you see on a daily basis at the grocery store but, that beautiful hair that you see in the movies that is bouncy and full of life! I guess this comes from having the worlds straightest hair.

So, I tried this hairdo on baby Mermaid! When I curl or crimp or triple barrel the girls hair I always work from the bottom up, I part the hair and then twist the top hair up and hook it with a octopus clip. Then I spray the lose part with hairspray and then curl, I found a product that I love, but it goes on and off the market all the time! So if I ever see it I buy it in bulk its made by tigi and it is called up tight heat activated curl enhancer, you spray it and then curl, it will hold a curl for days even on my girls straight hair! Now when I first got my triple barrel curler, I was so excited but I couldn't figure out how to work it, I was trying to roll it like you would a normal curling Iron ya I know its stupid! but it is more like a crimper! you just put it in between, clamp down, open and move down and curl again! You are all smart enough to figure that out I am sure, I don't know why I had such a hard time with it!

now I just keep taking hair off the top and spraying and then "curling" this took about a half hour, but quite honestly it lasted two days so, in my opinion it was worth it! but my girls have tonz of long hair so it could take longer or shorter depending on you child.

so when I get to the top section instead of holding my curler so the hair will lay straight and fall down the back I turn it on a 90 degree angle to the last curls so it falls down the sides of their face, if you don't understand my instructions check out the pics! see how the curls frame her face? of course you could end here but I have to keep going!

Now I just did a very loose french braid, don't pull tight! I know that is opposite of what I always say, but just make it as loose as you can. I didnt part this out before I did it I just took little chunks so it would look very natural.

repeat on the other side.

Hook both braids together in the back. and

your done!

have a little cheese with your pic!

twisted pigs

something easy again, yet different. we just parted the hair to make low pigtails but instead of putting a elastic on the top I just twisted it till it was really tight and just about ready to twist up on itself, then I folded the hair in half and let it twist togetherThen after I got it twisted together I put one elastic on the top and bottom to hold it together and then let the ends fantail out

Then I added bows, I had to slide the ends around to get them to look like I wanted them to

Low Pig tails with a braided headband

A quick easy hairdo with low pigs and a couple of braids so we parted out 2 one inch sections of hair from ear to ear where we wanted the head band to lay. I did a dutch french braid so it would stick out a little bit.we braided one section from right to left and only took hair from the front side of the braid so it would sit back on the part!

Then I started the back braid from left from right, only pulling hair from the back so it would sit next to the first braid

Then I put the rest of the hair into low pigtails, with the braid that ended by that ear,

added bows of course, and you have one cute baby mermaid!
I wish I would have taken a finished pic from the top, I cant believe how cute it was and how many complements I got on this one!

Letter "S"

For some reason we are still braiding letters into Baby Mermaids hair! Here is a "S" which I think was easier than a "T" Here is the first part that we did

now I braided across the top so it looked like this, and at this point I knew I was in trouble, when braiding an "S" you should part out all three parts at once, so when you get to the first curve, you can just take out your clip with one hand and continue on your merry braiding way. thank goodness little princess was home she held my braid while I parted out the next section.

You can see from this picture that I pulled from the front on the top part of the "S" and from both sides on the middle part and then from the bottom on the bottom part. why I did this it just felt right and I felt like I had more control on where the braid laid on her head!
